Dave, GTW is a strange one.

Last qtr they recovered from a couple of disastrous qtrs and had been royally rewarded. I really don't see anything positive other than the fact that the company did not pre-warn, which they did for both the Jun and sept 97 qtrs.

On the high end, I am not sure what product line do they have to compete with the likes of DELL. On the low end, CPQ's short term problems are well publicized. The CPQ and DELL thread both have raging bulls. This thread is really quiet. Yet, GTW has certainly performed, may be not as well as DELL but far better than CPQ, IBM and HWP in recent months. WHY? I wish I know.

Guys & Girls, I said I would try to get more information on GTW from the "silicon prairie" grapevine and get back to you with it. I'm sorry to have to tell you that I cannot come up with any GOOD information as far as how they are doing right now. I can tell you that the UPS trucks are not lined up all the way out to Interstate 29 right now.
When I read the post on 144 activity from Dave and also saw Tedd Waitt's Grandmother bail out of some of her stock, I got real worried. I would not over blow these worries if I were a holder of GTW stock as they can always sell out and get at least $50 per share. I think the Waitt Family sees that the present market price may be the high for the year. Tedd does not want to sell the company, and believes in himself and the company....long term. My heart says he is right on both accounts.
I heard in Feb that Jan was a strong selling month for GTW and heard at the same time that Feb was very slow.
I don't have to repeat general market conditions to all of you as you follow that very professionally. I Will pass on this story in case you have not read it.

Last spring GTW came in 4 cents short and the stock fell $5 early in the next trading day, but recovered and then went up $3 or $4 dollars over the next few months. Good Luck.

ps....I have been having a lot of fun with LU lately.

"...that's 75% of the stock he held at the time of the last 14A filing.
Maybe it's just my own bearishness, but this seems like a level of selling that is hard to explain without
concluding that he expects a lower stock price ahead. I guess we will find out in a couple weeks."

Dave,

I don't see anything wrong with selling 75% of ones holdings, especially if the guy is under diversified. He still has 25% of his portfolio in one basket, that speaks very positively. Personally I try not to have more than about 10 to 20% of my portfolio in a single issue. Most of the upper management are being paid in options as well, so a little selling is not to be construed as people dumping on the inside. Say wouldn't it make more sense to dump 100% if you knew the top was near? But who can guess the top for any stock? Not I!
