Harold - Re: "Why don't you stop beating the Intel drum and look at issues from both sides and give us the benefit of your insights. "

You are beating the AMD, Cyrix and IDT drum - why do you need me to beat it?

IBM has been Cyrix's foundry source for 4 or more years.

Are Cyrix's parts competitive in speed with the best in the industry?

Has Cyrix made money consistently in the past 4 years?

Has Cyrix LOST MONEY in the 6 of the past 8 quarters?

You seem to think that IBM will be the saving grace for these companies but history (Cyrix/IBM) has shown otherwise.

As to IDT being the low cost producer - what are their costs? If they are so low, why do they need IBM - to make them LOWER?

Jerry Sanders is famous for making the following statement about 8 or 10 years ago - "Real Men Have Their Own Fabs".

As AMD, NSM and IDT become more dependent upon outside foundries/fabs, Jerry needs to contemplate why he made that statement in the first place.
