Perry (and all that care to hear my meagre opinion, un-knowing, as I will readily admit, it is.) there is an ever-present takeover expectation in Ascend, and an ever-present gaggle of traders long/short going in-n-out. The shareholder base of Ascend has always been very flakey and they will scurry at the first sign of weakness.
I haven't joined the trading fray, I'm just offering my thoughts. The stock has risen - what, five days in a row? - on nothing of substance and it won't be sustained. It is a simple re-test of heavy resistance at 37-38. If it fails it will pull back. And then earnings will hit in one way or another. I have no opinion on earnings and I don't feel they will be important to the stock, except insofar as they are required to make another quarter in order to qualify the due diligence of a potential suitor.
