Sony is a big win. The thread, mostly expected a LSI win here. Sony will sell around 500K players this year. Dell will ship 2 to 3 times more DVD-ROM PCs.

Who supplies the Sony Playstation? OEMs lean toward current vendors. Check out your firm's buyers. They have relationships with the salesmen. LSI has a chip that works. They have a relationship.

Toshiba is a big win.(I hope C-Cube builds a relationship here.)

LG will ship DVD players to the US under the Zenith Lable. Good Player win.

Samsung player is a good win. They had planned to ship 100K to China in 1997. More to the US and Europe. I don't know how close they came.

Aiwa is only shipping in Japan.

Marantz could be a big player win, if Philips uses C-Cube in some other lines.

Matsushita/Panasonic have their own chip.

Thomson/RCA have ties with SGS Thomson.

Sharp bought Zoran's chip.

Pioneer? Mitsubishi? JVC? Others?

Don't forget the Chinese OEMs.

Lots up for grabs over the next year.

DVD-ROM sales this year are estimated to be between 7M and 20M units. DVD player estimates are around 2.5M. Not a big incentive to cost reduce your player design.

One company accounted for 20% of C-Cubes sales last year. They don't say who?

DVD was 3% of last years sales.

Divicom is a growth story. It could move from about 1/3 of C-Cube's revenues to 1/2, over the next two years.

Competition and price cuts. That's to be expected in a market the size of Digital Video. Everybody wants in.

Sure about this? I have a 10/96 press release from LSI
and a 2/97 from Cube. Sony was an early advance
customer for LSI (early access, etc.).
