Unfortunately, there are literally an infinite number of hypotheses which can be slapped together and you would be kept rather busy in testing them all. The important ones are those which happened to occur when the tools and mechanics of writing began to appear and those selected for the best-seller list made it into the Bible. I mean, if it's written on these here ancient scrolls it's gotta be important, right? Actually, your kids are writing more important stuff on bathroom walls. It's just not ancient or mysterious. I can only laugh with amusement at the notion that people like you actually take themselves seriously. On one hand it's truly entertaining, on the other it's a sad commentary on where we're at in terms of coming to grips with who we are, how we got here and what our purpose may or may not be. Those are legitimate questions you won't find the answers to by trivializing God as most religions do. Praying to stone idles or men who died on crosses are equally silly notions.
