I know what you mean about catching up on posts, Penni!! There is only so much time, and there are so many beautiful, wonderful, life-enhancing things to do with it. I wish I could give up on catching up at Feelings at the moment also, but I feel responsible somehow. It is such a beautiful day here, I wonder how threads can suddenly get so serious and scary!!

Well, I will try, anyway. Have a stunning day!!

Christine

"Why can't we have normal things."
May I quote you at ZONA? :-)

Have CW read Sacks' Migraine. The description of the aura in all its manifestations is mesmerizing. And it's comforting to know that your sensorium can be hit like taht, without durian or poultry-based intoxicants, and everything is basically ok.

Yesterday I ran into a neighbor, a guy who lives two houses down. I told him about the trouble I'm having with the boys next door. He basically laughed it off. He's a little league coach, and he knows a lot of the boys involved. Apparently he has no real problem with them carrying on in that lot.
He said he tried to grow a garden there once, and the city raised a lot of barriers to his leasing the land. He would have had to fence it and bring in water out of his own pocket. He says that he complained to some woman whose dog was in the garden, and she phoned in a threat or something. Now he rolls his eyes and says that the city sees him as a complainer. He advised me not to become "militant". I think he was telling me to put up with it, or something.
This guy is not the nicest fella. His neighbor (on the other side) complained once that he was running power tools past 9 pm. He got nasty to her face. Now when he recalls the incident, he badmouths the lady by saying "she called the cops on me because I ran a Skilsaw on a Saturday. Now the city has her pegged as a Complainer." We have a coupla families here who ythink that because they were here earlier, a looser code of neighborly conduct applies. I worry that the police might have the same don't-bother-us mentality.
I hate this.
