Okay, that's about 10 posts on that idle speculation. There are well known cross-marketing and collaborative deals between Newbridge and 3Com, IBM and 3Com, and more recently Siemens and 3Com. I don't recall any of those companies doing deals with Ascend. Can someone please inform me where this linkage to Ascend comes from?

A West coast company with a significant East coast division, the old Cascade. That would be a mess!!!

Can't imagine it ever happening. NN is trying to go head-to-head against ASND. So a combo just doesn't make sense to me.
