K6 vs. PII Logic Core:

This issue has been discussed before but I would like to know if anyone has the benchmark performance of the K6 and PII logic core.
To be the same a PII should run at 133MHz. Thus the cache bus is at 66MHz. Then take the K6 runs at 133MHz on 66MHz bus. Both system should have same L2 cache and everything else stays the same.

I believe when this is done K6 should outperform PII.

Maxwell , re. K6-233 Phantom
I suggest we conduct a local neighbourhood survey of availability for 266mhz . Here is a start , according to a large local computer store they are selling IBM + Compaq 233mhz and 266mhz models . They have been selling them for a month according to this salesman ,

Madwell,
Re -- The price is also dropping too. It was at $325 and now you can get it for $301.

It had better drop real fast to about $80. The celeron 266 with AGP is on its way. And it will knock the shoes of the castrated cacheless K6-266.

Maxwell,
Goldman Saches crossed 196,000 shares which pushed AMD stock price
up 5/8 on last Friday afternoon. I like Albert's 15 million short positions of AMD.

Best wishes

James

Maxwell, re:Now there are 8 companies offering K6-266MHz 0.25um version. Man where are these "phantom" K6 come from?

Maybe IBM or CPQ recently cancelled a big order for K6-266 and went
with PII-266 instead because Intel gave them a deal they couldn't refuse....
