Welcome to SI.....You always have to respond to a previous post. There are a couple of ways to generate a "to all" or "to the thread" post if that is what you are trying to do. If you have posted to the thread before just go to one of your own posts and respond to it. Sometimes posters start such a post with ALL or Thread in the first line. If you have never posted to the thread before, respond to the 0 post. Put 0 in the message number box and push enter to take you to the 0 post.
