Thanks for the prompt response. I checked out your advice, but there does not seem to be a device conflict. I am able to boot up in safe mode, and after a while reboot successfully. It seems like it has to do with memory swapping, which is only available after the computer runs. Do I know what I'm talking about ??? I think you're right about the sound card being the problem, can I enable the sound card only after I boot ?? Again I may not be making any sense.

Thanks for any help, the tech friends I have have, so far been unable to help me.
