Re:- JavaOne.

Did you by any chance visit either BEA Systems or Iona? From
comments from DY, I believe that BORL considers these Co's rivals.
IONAY gained over 5 points last week and its market cap now exceeds
BORL's (on a much lower revenue base - 11+ X Sales).
Apparently BORL did not make the COBRA panel, and I wonder if this
pop was a reaction to comments on the future of the various flavors
of their ORBIX middleware.
BEAS has a market cap that exceeds 2 Billion, it has 9+ analysts
that see a huge potential for its TUXEDO and forthcoming ICEBERG
products. Its low for 1997 was, however, only around 6.
I find it very hard to understand why the market's perception of
BORL's comparable stable of products is so low. If nothing else,
there should be some premium in its price as a possible takeover
candidate.
I have seen recently a number of comments that point up the fact
that its low stock price is a detriment to sales volume.
It might be an interesting exercise to put a separate price on the
worth of each horse to another owner.
