You want standards? How about freedom of speech? Yeah, I know, it's full of trouble and is the worst possible solution- -except for all the others.

But actually the problem here isn't standards; it's enforcement. Many people, myself included, have noticed that more often than not the wrong people are punished. Some dlot like LTS comes, enrages a good many people (probably intentionally), and then goes blubbering to Jill
"He hit me!"- -when what should be said is "He hit me BACK!" Jill then suspends the poor suckers who responded to the provocation.

If you're going to punish you need justice, and to have that you need to investigate and establish the facts. If you're too busy or unwilling to do that, then maybe you shouldn't appoint yourself judge and jury.
