Other Commodities

Cameco also owns a 30% interest in the Fort a la Corne diamond exploration project located near
Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. The other partners are Uranerz (project operator), Monopros Limited,
and Kensington Resources Ltd. Exploration to the end of 1994 indicated the presence of diamonds in
sub-economic quantities in several kimberlite bodies based on limited sampling which was not considered statistically representative. Further exploration in 1995, 1996 and 1997 at a total cost of approximately
$4.5 million continued to indicate sub-economic grades based on macrodiamond recoveries from large diameter drill hole samples. Cameco does not plan to participate in diamond exploration in 1998.
