Mark, I agree, however, ADPT's products overlap those of Symbios.

I guess this will enable them to cancel the projects at one or the other and put those engineering resources to other uses. That's a fair statement. My problem is that I don't see management painting a nice picture of the road ahead, I like to see clear goals and a clear product direction. I think that their I/O mission statement is wearing a little thin especially in view of the growth of the sub $1000 pC's.

gda: I agree 100% with your comment on the Symbios merger. As I have stated, I think Adaptec took advantage of an excellent business opportunity. But the deal isn't final and the company isn't public, so we don't really know much about its financials. This spooks some.

As an indicator of interest, just look at the activity on this thread over the last month. Compare it to last September. Very interesting dynamics at play. I take the interest as tacit admission the company is a bargain at the current range. Those who want to get a better deal are waiting. The more cautious--and patient--are accumulating.
