Good post,

I agree that sharper cutbacks are needed to really stabilize the price of oil in the long term. Production cutbacks are also needed from the British and Norwegians in the North Sea.

Short term hope would be if Asia got their house in order. But I don't see that happening any time soon. I do see more acquisitions in the short term due to economic hardship for small producers. I'm still not panicking, I weathered the drop in 1986 when everyone said the sky was falling. Looking for small fields myself to pick up on the cheap.

Let's just hope that OPEC and the North Sea folks don't start fighting about market share.
