Does anyone besides me think that the channel director for the EMC's
Symmetrix 5000 series looks suspiciously like a storage director from CMNT? EMC is supposed to make an announcement on the 5700 next week. If CMNT switch is used, this will mean big bucks. EMC has 51% of the IBM mainframe storage market.

In fact, I have been buying this week because I don't know of anyone else who has a switch with SCSI, ESCON, and FC connections like EMC wants. CMNT is getting their FC technology from ANCR, however neither ANCR, or Brocade have the ESCON technology, and neither have announced a switch with the cababilities EMC is advertising - i.e. the ability to connect to both a mainframe and a UNIX server.
