Yup,

So much negative spin. One wonders why. Let's face it, if AAPL really turns around, one hell of a lot of people are going to get burned. The spectre of computers that work is a long and dark one. (and okay, Alomex, most people are happy enough with a 166 pentium to play games, do some word processing, look at their MS CDs and surf the web - why else do you think Compaq, Dell & Intel are feeling the pinch at the moment?).

The fact is that for the first time in ages this type of stuff, and Adobe's quarterly rant, has absolutely no effect on APPLs share price. And, perhaps, that is the phenomenon we are dealing with here. The anti-AAPL spin is going to get louder and louder. But also less and less focussed (pace Motley Fool and some self-styled maven character on Techweb a cpouple of days ago).

Our bottom line is not only the profit (which is not in doubt), or the scale of it (nine figures IMHO, Leonardo) but the number of boxes that got shifted this quarter. As long as those figures exceed 600k, I believe that the stock will handle any muck that is thrown at it. But any further decline in box numbers will see us staring shakily into the summer. Anecdotally, we seem to be looking okay for this, but I would be happier if we could lay our hands on some harder figures.

Maybe CompUSA will help us out this week. That is if Philip Lee hasn't already caluclated the box numbers down to two decimal points.

best of luck to all
