Rick, I agree with your reservations for several reasons. First, there's nothing as accurate as 20-20 hind sight. Giving results (I don't know if the authors do) can be very misleading unless all of the unselected results are given. Second,h ow do we know which technologies are due for steep exponential growth before hand? Third, it seems to take one heck of a lot of cash to do this. I don't place any particular credence in this approach because as I said I just browsed the book. By the way, the authors use the term gorilla to denote companies that come to dominate their peers, and the thesis seems to be that you don't know before the fact which company will become the gorilla, so you buy them all.

I'm not much for recipes except those I use for cooking. And I'm not sure how you came to the conclusion that I endorsed the idea.

Anyhow, Rick, don't beat around the bush. Tell us how you really feel!
