Which Canadian discount broker is best? Someone start a thread to discuss the merits of the various discounters. While i don't know who is best, I do know that it is definitely not Scotia Securities. I have now sent in my application for E-Trade, knowing they cannot possibly be worse. The time on hold at Scotia for telephone trades is ridiculous (that is when you don't just get a busy signal), and their often busy quote line reads the quotes sooo sloooow. They don't even bother to acknowledge receipt of an Email complaining about a particularly long wait. Then theres the one rep who, when asked for a quote with sizing (necessary because of the long wait), offers just the last price and volume - asked again and gives the bid/ask, and only after a third request offers the sizing, as if it is just killing him to do so. He does this every time!

While I will soon be finished with Scotia, I would like to hear the expiriences of others at other houses. at leas we would have a place to vent!
