Jamie, I have used ActionDirect(Royal),Greenline(TD),Investorline(BOM)and E-Trade extensively.

I think Greenline is best because of Micromax&Telemax, quick accurate,
however they each have some advantages..

Investorline comes a very close second, in that their commissions are less, they are very good for Canadian orders, however had some problem with shorting US securities. I cancelled my Royal account and E-Trade is OK, nothing special.

Greenline is not cheap, but probably the best, I have my Cdn margin acct and 1 RSP at BOM, the rest at Greenline. The big advantage of Greenline like I said is accuracy, speed, Micromax, and the ability to see open orders. Shorting US securities also, otherwise BOM is pretty good.(better commissions and spreads on US/Cdn $'s. Scott

PS: Investorline(BOM) is best if you play pennies, orders under $2000 are $25, whereas TD is min $43 and if you get into pennies, even a small order at TD can be very expensive E.G. if you are doing 10,000 shares at 0.10.
So it depends a bit on what you want to do..

Jamie,

I use Greenline (from TD Bank) and must say that I am quite happy with my choice. Although Greenline takes a commission of $29 (internet&PC trades) compared to Scotia's $25, I think the service they offer is really good. There is always an operator available (24/7), but sometimes you have to wait a few minutes. Placing Internet orders is very easy and efficient. I don't recall coming across any problems with them since the 14 months I have been using their service.

Just my input. Hope it helps.

Imran
