Most cos prefer to do 2/1 splits, since over a space of time, can obviously get more of them than 3/1 splits. I rather doubt the market rewards 3/1 more than 2/1.

There is a tension between the bullish signal that stock splitting sends, and the lack of prestige that lingering in the teens tends to communicate. (And the terrible lack of prestige than trading below 10 communicates.)

I imagine Rmbs's self image in north of 40, and certainly north of 30. And that it will time its splits accordingly.

Past comments by the CFO during the fall rocket days suggest that they very much want to avoid appearing as a flash in the pan, mo mo only vehicle. I would think that a company trading under the symbol IOM has crossed their minds.
