I think his point was just that you can run your whole business on 800 bucks worth of computer and software, if you use an old box. Which millions of people do.

However, given that a cheap motherboard replacement with a 200 mhz pentium, win95 and 32 megs of ram would cost maybe $250 dollars and let you run maybe 2-3 times as fast and with more stability, I would think about using 1995 technology and still save a lot of money.

On another note, I just got a motherboard (in my new graphics box) that has u-ide, usb, uw-scsi, RAID support, remote admin, AGP, and room for 2 pentium II's for 300 bucks. This year's technology is a pretty good deal too.
