All I meant was that IDE has greatly enhanced performance with 33MB and 66MB transfer speeds. It has been the low cost leader for years. SCSI has 40MB and 80MB transfers speeds, and within the next half year, 200MB fibre channel will be more common. Adaptec is in there with high performance chip sets and cards for all of the above. But with integration of the chip sets onto the motherboards, the revenue stream of ADPT gets clobbered. Most high end server motherboards have ADPT controllers built onto the board. ADPT must diversify further to survive as a stand alone entity.
