The approval process for the WorldCom/MCI merger is more of a learning process right now then anything else for the DOJ. No one really understands the internet. The scrutiny is for the most part comming from MCI WorldCom's competition. This includes GTE, Bell Atlantic, and Sprint. The less serious opposition comes from the likes of Jesse Jackson.

Just my point of view. The merger should go through sometime within the next few months (no one knows for sure the exact date).

Hope this helps some.
