FYI, all:

I spoke with Don Bubar today, and heard that the Market Survey report will be made available soon. Now, that doesn't necessarily mean this week or next week, but it sounds as though it's in the spit-&-polish phase, and personally, I'd prefer them to check their math and get it right the first time. So, patience.

What day is the Gold Show and where in Toronto? Sponsored by whom?

Thanks,

D. McP.

INVESTOR'S DIGEST (April 10, 1998, p. 191)

"A Rare Find: ..." by George Werniuk

"Avalon Ventures Ltd. (AVL-VSE, $1.95, 1-888-338-1188) is a junior that has received a lot of investor interest in recent months because of its Separation Rapids property, located 60 km north of Kenora, Ontario.

Lithium and rubidium mineralization were discovered here in 1996. Avalon optioned the property, and has the right to acquire 100 per cent interest less a two per cent net smelter royalty by spending $600,000 on exploration, paying $100,000 and issuing 200,000 shares to the vendors. Expenditures so far exceed $600,000. A total of 100,000 shares and $50,000 have been paid to the vendors.

The Separation Rapids property contains lithium and rubidium mineralization in a zone called the Big Whopper. It has been mapped, trenched and tested by two drill programs.

Avalon is well-financed.

The petalite zone (petalite is a rare mineral that contains lithium) has been traced along a 900-metre strike length with mineralization continuing beyond the drilled area.

Lithium is used in the manufacture of Pyrex and Corningware products, and petalite is favoured by the glassware and ceramics industry because of its low iron content.

Tantalum, cesium and rubidium have specialized applications and their presence in significant quantities would enhance the economics of the deposit.

Although still at the exploration stage, the company has commissioned both marketing and metallurgical studies.

This type of mineral deposit is rare and could prove to be a company maker for Avalon. The company has a number of gold and base metal properties elsewhere in Canada but Separation Rapids has garnered most of the investors' attention.

At the end of January Avalon had $1.3 million after having completed a private placement in December. The placement raised $1 million, with the funds earmarked for further exploration work at Separation Rapids and two other projects in southwestern Ontario."
