From Brazil Financial Wire (Tuesday): Telebras to be privatized next July, reaffirms Motta Bras¡lia, 31 - Telecommunications minister, Sergio Motta, reaffirmed today that the privatization of the Telebr s system will definitely be initiated next July. He said his ministry will honor the Telebr s privatization schedule, which foresees the auction of 12 companies in the system. Motta added that the privatization's call for tender is being carefully prepared. The minister further stated that he expects more investments coming from Sweden, in addition to those being placed by the Tess consortium -- winner of the tender for the area 2 of the so-called Band B cellular telephone system, and comprised by Swedish-owned Telia, as well as Brazilian-owned Eriline and CR Almeida.
