Uh - if your desire is to show my example sucks, then kudos. If you wish to dismiss the point I was making by attacking the example, then that is silly. There have been stocks with problems/hurdles that eventually became big winners, maybe it's Intel, Iomega, whatever. The point being stocks that trade at a low value usually do so for a reason. Can they eventually become big winners... yes, are the odds against them... absolutely, and that's the point. The market decides what the future value of a stock is. The market does not believe the claims made by some that this stock is the same as DoubleClick. It obviously isn't, could it be? ... yes, but it's a long shot. Not to mention that some would think DC is overvalued right now.
