CIEN has been testing it's short-haul products for months now, they just didn't make a big deal about it like FIBR did with their Brooks release. In fact, CIEN's Firefly product is in trials with another RBOC as we speak. This isn't a secret. Don't be surprised to see CIEN bag another baby bell in the near future.
