I think the naming of the teaming partner is a function of where FIBR stands with their partner(s) on large dollar value RFP's of telecoms. There is a time in any event when the RFP's players names will be known and it may be that some can become public 60 days from the CC but I would not count on it as competitive advantage may dictate otherwise. From those who listened to the conference call you can begin to count the items that have been made specific including: (1) naming the new director (2) follow-up on Pete Peterson's comment that half of his 1999 FY "bogie" has been met with Net+Arm contracts (3) a follow-up major annoucement of market acceptance of the Net+Arm as an industry standard for printer manufacturers (4) a unique unchallenged marketplace for their Gigmux metro market product although some posters don't seem to want to read that Ciena and Lucent show promise of someday having one they don't offer a commercially accepted, produced, competively priced, etc. product today and more than they did at the CC. Anybody want to sell more FIBR so some of us can continue to build truly significant positions....be my guest as I'm still a buyer and a long term (2-3 years) holder for a serious double digit price of the stock. Happy trading!

Looks like this might throw a little reality in the way of FIBR promoters. If Osicom has such great engineering talent and long-haul systems are less sophisticated than short-haul, (as Mr. Pawlak would have you believe), FIBR should have been selling long-haul systems while the short-haul market was developing. Looks like their "siginificant lead" in the short-haul market is meaningless. CIEN just announced a $13 million DWDM contract today, where are the FIBR contracts?

For others, such as WorldCom, the decision is not as cut and dried. "With the acquisitions of MFS and Brooks, WorldCom is still trying to understand what the local environment is," Mr. Baker said. "We're trialing DWDM this year, but we're six months away from a decision as to what level of deployment of DWDM we want for local networks."
