Actually, it's been done before, by the folks who brew Samuel Adams beer, I believe. They gave out coupons in six-packs to purchase 10 shares at a fixed IPO price, or something like that if memory serves.

Also something worth keeping in mind, most IPOs end up below their offering price within a year or so. Then again, you only want to make a quick flip on the IPO and don't plan on holding for the long-term, right? :-)
