*OT* re: <<I'm actually kinda bullish on Japan>

That's kind of my what I meant by running the other way when the Japanese market dives on the outflow of funds. And thanks to an earlier post of yours I'm following MBK.

Back on topic: I've seen the "big guns" on the thread dissing the boats, but lots of us have bought into HMAR and TMAR. Are we just cannon fodder, or are us "independent thinkers" going to be rewarded here? HMAR moved up slightly on triple normal volume today.

**OT** I agree 100% with 14,000 as a base, LT. I'm very negative on Japan as far as the economy is concerned, but 14,000 is a tried and true bottom and will almost certainly be good for a significant bounce. I'm not sure how close we'll get, though.

Ideally, I would play Nikkei index calls or some equivalent basket if we get close to 14,000.

Japan's fiscal mess could further reduce demand for oil for a while. I agree that eventually they'll be fine, but it may not be a bad idea to give it 6-12 months to drive all the roaches into the light. At present we still don't really know the extent of the problem.

You don't like the webs, either?

We're seeing a classic L-T bottom.

OK, I give, what does your bottom look like?
