Consider the following mere speculation: Separation Rapids: - in-fill drilling is what it implies/no one is expecting any surprises here - given the fact that the market study and metallurgical studies are now complete, however, one would think that the prefeasibility-feasibility study time period will be shortened considerably - I would speculate any higher grade tantalum would be associated with the exploration drilling (rather than the in-fill drilling), but in close proximity to the main mass (if the zonation of other pegmatites is any indication)- if its in close proximity to the main mass of petalite, it could be a factor in the mine development plans) - Note: Tantalum prices continue to rise: Spot ore mid-market US$32.00 per lb. Ta2O5, (Mar. 24/98). Speculation on other properties: - any decision on a second phase drill program on Wolf would obviously hinge on the assays and Dr. Naldrett's geological assessment of the property - a decision to drill Dubenski would probably hinge on gold prices, results from other drill programs, the company's drill program budget, etc. If management's ability to raise financing and build shareholder value in 1997 (one of the mining sector's darkest hours) is any indication, AVL's success in 1998 will be no different. As for news, I would expect results will be released when they are 100% confident that the information they are providing shareholders is accurate. If I'm correct, we will see news from Separation Rapids first (i.e. drill results, market study highlights, metallurgical study highlights). Its equally important to recognize that any number of corporate developments could impact on the above. DRT
