Intel Investors - 440BX 100 MHz Motherboards are now available!

Check out

pricewatch.com

Two vendors are listed MicroXpress and Paragon Technology.

They both carry Intel SE440BX Motherboards, ranging in price from only
$239 to $300.

It would appear that everything is ready for the April 15 Deschutes/Celeron/440 BX Launch!

Paul

Paul,

Do you want the yield information or do you just like debating the issue?

The next time I have the box open (probably this weekend), I will send you the info.

As far as debating the issue, yes I do.

Suppose I want to buy a new CPU. How can I find out the yield? Suppose I am a buyer for a large company and I want to buy 1000 PCs. Suppose I want to have the "most reliable" CPUs. Do you think the vendor will open all the boxes, send me the info, so that I can send you the lot numbers and see how they compare?

Ok, the next step would be to select say, top 25% (remember, the reliability is the key) and ask the vendor to open another 3000 boxes and select top 750.

How practical is this approach? Don't you think that both Tony Viola and his theory are nuts?

Joe
