Charles,

I can't tell what is the highest compensation package I've seen...but I am sure it doesn't exceed what IPM, prez got.

A few examples:

Cumberland Resources:

Total Admin salaries in 1995: $125K
Cash in the bank: $7.5M

Total Admin salaries in 1996: $250K
Cash in the bank: $14.5M

And CBD was (still is) a very succesful company during those year discovering the Meadowbank and Meliadine deposits. Admin salaries include from The Pres down to the secretery. So CBD was very lean on paying salaries even if they had the money and the properties to justify it.

Same with Manhattan in 1993 and 1994 when it was developping its Morris Mine. Admin salaries where a small C$87K and C$201K. At that time MAN had quite a few millions in the bank, gold reserves and more.

Usually juniors without production revenus pay very small salaries and most often compensate their directors with options deals. They start paying salaries and benefits only after they successfully develop assets.

I checked a few other juniors and some had no salary paid in the last two years(Minefinders, ). And we are talking companies that have assets. Companies that have only grass roots projects like IPM rarely pay a salary to their director, let alone paying cars and loaning $$ to other companies.
