One of the aspects that I find particularly odious about this situation is that in order to make a case, the victim has to "prove" she suffered subsequent damages from the big bad boor's behavior. She'd not have needed to do taht if she'd filed for sexual harassment before the statute of limitations ran out. And I do think it's extremely healthy to have a statute of limitations for these cases. Otherwise people like Anita Hill can turn up ten years later saying: Ooooooh, he groped me (though in her case all he seems to have done was make jokes, and YES I DID think Long Dong Sliver was a hoot), but I didn't bother to say anything at the time because he wasn't really important then...
