While the LS-120 is better for notebook users, it has NO advantage for desktops. 1) A Zip + Floppy is still cheaper than LS-120. 2) ATAPI Zip is ~4x faster than LS-120. 3) There are 12+ million Zips installed versus <2 million LS-120. 4) Have you ever seen an external LS-120 drive? Those things must weigh over 2 lbs! In conclusion, why would anyone want something that is slower, less compatible with other users, and less available at retail? BTW, if and when Sony's HiFD comes out, say goodnight to Imation. -Andrew

James, they have been hyping LS-120 for almost 2 years. They have been putting them in boxes and selling them as addons for a year. No one wants them. They read regular floppies slower than a regular floppy drive and cost too much. I was at CompUsa today and met a man whose 2 year old floppy drive died. He looked at the LS-120 and said at $150 it was ridiculous. He is going to buy a regular floppy via mail order for $30. Millions of people buy Zip just to have it, even though they have a perfectly good floppy drive. But there's a guy who won't even buy an LS-120 when his regular floppy quit. Good luck on your IOM short.
