Could someone please post the link for the SEC Y2K 10K guidelines.

I've been pulling company Y2K budget info together and some recent 10K's regarding Year 2000, and think it's worth having it's own SI thread. Much easier to track what is OR isn't being done. "Creative" writing may be entertaining.

Thanks,

Cheryl

Paul,

It is my opinion based upon my 29 years w/ large scale S/360-370-390 systems,
my academic background, rumors circulating in the DC area superprogrammer
grapevine, and off-the-record conversations with 5 programmers who have
worked on IRS systems, that the task of the IRS's geeks is impossible. One of
the 5 is very likely in the top .1 percent of S/390 assembly language
programmers in the world.

But that is my opinion based on rumor and whispers.

Mr. Rossotti may have better information, he should, he's the IRS's
commissioner.

Consider the actions that he has personally taken in the last few months. He
fired Gross. He arranged a 10% bonus for the programmers. He is negotiating
with congress for resources, training, manpower, and relief from tax code
changes so that he can focus on Y2K.

Can he pull it off? I don't think so. Would I bet a hundred bucks that they
fail? Sure... but there's no guarentee. If anyone can pull this off,
Chuckie is the man. Chuckie is not a pointy hair.

Anything can happen, we have 637 days left.
