The Dallas Morning News very recently had an article contrasting customer complaints for Marcus Cable in Ft. Worth vs TCI Cable in Dallas. One conclusion was that TCI had a lot lower complaint ratio.

Nonetheless, the Dallas City Council has refused to extend the franchise rights of TCI to serve Dallas. One reason for deferring the renewal was customer complaints. Another reason (probably the more significant) is that the City Council believes that TCI has increased rates in Dallas more than has been justified. In the wings, other cable companies are waiting to apply for the franchise rights and some councillors evidently will welcome them. Renewal is not a 'done deal' in Dallas, so there is a real possibility that interactive television might not come to Dallas, as planned.

I tried to find the article I had read so that I could post a link here. However, the Dallas Morning News does not archive its articles. The specific item I had read is no longer available and I could not check for possible differences between the article and my recollection of it.
