See my posts 36150 and 36151. I also recall that Meathead wrote a post about Morton Topfer's position.

JF,

C'mon! Jim, you really work for the IRS, don't you! 'Fes up now!

Let's see now - just a hypothetical -

Bought 1000 shares at an 'effective' price of $17/share, now worth $68/share. So if I sell (not in sheltered account) I get to pay capital gain taxes on $68(sell)-$17(cost)=$51(capital gains)! Woopee, I get to pay 'uncle' $10000! I THINK NOT! (Does this mean you don't get your IRS raise? - just kidding!)

Regards,

Ken

Hey Braintrust (Mr. Fink), what percentage of Mort's holdings are represented by his sales??? Do you know??? Do you bother to do research, or do you just paste every negative thing you read???

James, You still need to get a "sense" of how many shares Dell insiders control versus how many they have sold.

Good luck with your short. Your odds are 50/50 of making
money in the short to intermediate term. 99.9% sure it will
lose big if you hang on too long.
