*OT* - Testimony for owning a standard poodle. Had lots of dogs, and this is by far our best ever. 10 years old and like a human member of the family. Extremely smart, calm, and barks ferociously at any stranger that even approaches the house. Stops barking once we acknowledge and tell her it's okay. Won't bother to bark at known friends and family members, she knows the difference. So, I guess as long as a friend or family member doesn't break in, we'll know of any attempt. Another plus is no shedding, but the grooming bills are considerable, every six weeks.
