Pete,

Buy some LU. It's going up a point every 2-3 hours thus far
this week. <nfg> I may join you on bagging this short crap.
Now the Japanese are yanking all their cash to buy the US
market. There's another trillion or so which should enter
our market in the next couple weeks.

This bull has LEGS! It currently ignores bad news and charges ahead anyway. In other words, we're in the manic, irrational phase.

It looks like most of the bears really will have to give up and start going long before this bul will die.

Pete, I do not take comfort in the fact that crashes are infrequent. I would argue that one must look at valuations, public participation, leverage, level of speculation. This is the stuff that crashes are made of. At fiendbear.com they have a list of significant declines during the last 80 years. BTW SEA collapsed without any interest rate hike. This mkt will tank regardless of what the Fed does they have already sown the seeds of disaster it is too late. During the Japanese bubble mkt days the bulls used the same demographic arguments to rationalize irrational prices. Tsunami is a reality not a myth ho ho ho ho ho . looks like the Dow 9000 CNBS orgy will have to wait till monday. They better hurry Asia is teetering ho ho ho Mike

Pete, I see Louise Yamada of Smith Barney with a chart of Nikkei overlayed with the present bull mkt. I have the mute on but I would imagine the implicit message is we have more upside. They should have George Ure's chart of the present mkt vs 1929 -not so bullish -g- I don't suppose the talking heads would bother to tell Louise that the Nikkei peaked at 39000 and is now at 15500 with no bottom on sight. Not to worry though CNBS will tell the public when to sell. Mike

Forget it. Crash cancelled. The Japanese are going to let loose on the world their anal-retentive savers with ten TRILLION dollars.

DOW 20,000 coming up.
