Coolidge also authored one of the greatest 1-liners in presidential history. In 1926 or so, Red Grange, the football legend, was introduced to Coolidge by one of the senators from Illinois. The senator said, "Mr. Grange, I'd like you to meet Red Grange of the Chicago Bears." To which Coolidge replied, "I have always liked animal acts."

Get me out of here.

Earth to Paula, your lawyer is a fascist dingbat:

By PETE YOST Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON (AP) -- With Paula Jones' lawsuit gone and the grand jury pressing ahead, Monica Lewinsky's lawyer today made a public plea for Whitewater prosecutors to end their criminal investigation. ''The American people want this matter to end,'' William Ginsburg said.

Seeking to capitalize on the dramatic dismissal earlier this week of Mrs. Jones' sexual harassment lawsuit, Ginsburg said that Whitewater prosecutor Kenneth Starr needs to consider the will of the country along with the facts and law.

To make his point, he scoffed at Starr's allusion at a news conference Thursday to the fictional detective Joe Friday, played by actor Jack Webb, in the 1960s television show Dragnet.

''Mr. Starr, Jack Webb cared about not 'only the facts ma'am,' but he also cared about the will of the people he was serving,'' Ginsburg said. ''Mr. Starr, have you no shame? Facts and law are always subordinated to the will of the American people.''

Ya Ya Ginsburg for Fuhrer!!!

Mr. Cooledge respected the Presidency so much that he never entered the oval office without wearing a coat and tie.

They say that Reagan did likewise.

>>I will hazard a guess. Calvin Cooledge. Our most underrated President

Coolidge certainly was a good President and one of the wittiest as well. Somewhere I have a book of Presidential anecdotes and quotes and Coolidge was easily one of the most quotable, notable given his legendary economy of words.

One anecdote:

While at a dinner party the tittering hostess seated Coolidge next to herself and told him that she had been warned that she would not be able to engage him in conversation and that they had bet that she couldn't get him to say more than two words.

Coolidge's reply?

Silent Cal looked at the matron and said
You lose.

Another good one:

I choose not to run.

Btw, Peggy Noonan has recently stated that Clinton is memorable for being unmemorable. There are exceptions like "I didn't inhale" and a few other boners but his plethora of lies have earned him just his general reputation as a liar non pareil.
