Thanks fro your opinion Scott. Everyone has one. I'm sure your contact at GTE is knowledgeable, however the issues I raised were issues being considered at higher levels than your Project Manager. Also, I'd like to point out that I'm reporting what I have uncovered to the thread - it's not my opinion or my conjecture...simply repeating statements I've heard from contacts within both GTE and Cisco. It's up to you and others on the thread to either consider this input or not...but I don't think it requires a heated response. If you don't like the information ignore it. Most investors however consider all input. The only trouble here is that there is no way to verify the identity of those posting on the thread and how close they actually are to these deals. I could be some yahoo off the street...but let me assure you that I'm not and I am VERY close to this.

Oh, one other note... Cisco (through StrataCom) does have a good understanding of carrer nets. So your accurate comment about price performance is fully understood. I should add that the paradigm is changing and now goes beyond simple price performance...SP's are now considering services. So I'd make that Price, Performance, Value Added Services. As for the ISP's, again, you're right. Cisco is fighting tooth and nail in these accounts, but from the numbers posted by Forrester, Vertical, and IDC it appears that they are winning a number of these accounts. In fact, Asnd has lost significant market share in these accounts in both switches and RAS's to competitors (not just Cisco). this was, in part, a reason for ASND's downturn last year. Now, however, ASND appears to be re-invigorated and Cisco, who was targeting ASND took their "eye off the ASND ball" - looking towards competitors such as LU, and NT. Perhaps the wrong thing to do for Cisco? Here comes ASND..on the comeback trail. Now ASND needs to expand, start delivering services and multiservice on IP nets. Their late here and have some work to do to catch up.

So, Scott, I understand your defensiveness. But, the world is more than just GTE, more than just WAN switches and RAS. ASND still has a battle in front of them. If you don't believe that then sell everything you have and place all your money on this pup. If you do believe it, then your better served by spreading your money amoung a number of networking stocks, such LU, NT, CSCO, and some of the smaller startups...depending on your particular fancy.
