Freeus, I chose TLAB just because of the 100 bagger post the other day. In fact, I've been holding T and IBM since the mid 60's and TYC since the mid 80's with similar, although less spectacular results. The main point I was trying to make is that trading in a non-tax-advantaged environment entails considerable needless cost to the investor.

Of course, you can never be sure you picked the right stock. That's why you are best off with a portfolio of about 12 to 15 stocks. And obviously, this approach is not a desirable one for cyclical stocks. I'll talk economic philosophy with you later.
