Herb:

This is as incoherent a comment on trading in NYSE as I have ever seen.

For every block sold there is a buyer of the block. The institutions who are selling have either made their run or are expecting a better reward elsewhere. The institutions who are buying the same large blocks see a better return from IOM than elsewhere and disagree with the sellers. This process should be obvious even without a training in rocket science.

IOM's future stock price is inextricably linked to its future products, revenue and earnings potential. The current price is a reflection of current information (including the element of panic) and tells nothing about the future price that will depend on how the future information unfolds. The pundits predicting that price will dip can turn out to be right by as much happenstance as the others who predict the price to go up. 260 M shareholders believe the price to go up (given their long position), while a very small percentage of these shareholders (the shorts) disagree. While the shorts/longs can turnout to be right, they may also go wrong and get burnt in the process.
