No system test is "realistic" - It is supposed to be consistent- so that you can compare one system to another under "the same conditions". Buying at the open is about as close to "realistic" and "consistent" as I have found.

The key is to compare relative performance of different systems.

You can create some primitive tests in QP such as Max(0,-9,cl) for exit and Open(-9) for entry with parameters created for close(-10).

Exit at the high close for the ten day period after buying at the open from a signal ten days back.

You can then output the values of same on your println statement.

Or you can use Metastock or WOW or Technifilter Plus for system tests.

Hello Spots,

I've been able to get the open 99% of the time and I think it is the best one to use for system testing...
