Hello Jim,
I don't have the time to go into it in detail, but I thought the article you referenced was excellent. It really points out the reality of the situation that IBM finds itself in. A lot of changes in hardware are about to take place in the Enterprise world. Will IBM be able to gain, or lose, from these significant changes?

From my point of view, I have always felt, and expressed it here, that eventually the mainframe business would be at risk to the PC/Router business. The article that you referenced would seem to indicate that the mainframe company (IBM), is going to have to play in the PC (Intel)/ Internet (Cisco), ballpark. In other words, IBM is going on the road and will be the visiting team.
Jules

PS. My second largest holding after Intel is Cisco.
