Pappy, you are totally right re the significance of a piece of equipment being solid-state. Equipment that is solid-state does not require a specially controlled environment. It can operate either in the tropics or at the North Pole. A solid-state laser is very reliable and requires virtually no maintenance.

All of these attributes are EXACTLY part of the reason that there is so much excitement about SNRS, since it's laser is solid-state. I've heard how many "fires" the SNRS laser is capable of before significant maintenance is required and the number is mind-bending.

You really should look into attending a demonstration of the SNRS laser and discussing the procedure with the MD's involved. We really want thorough researchers like yourself on the SNRS boat. The important thing is seeing where LTK fits into the refractive arena and understanding the strong motivation of the hyperope.

Best regards.
