Janice, Remember, Hitler was elected by people with socialist sympathies. How far is the socialism of the liberals from these same ideals? Think about it. Is the truth you recognize only what the liberals say it is? See below for more insight. Darrell _____________________________________________________________________ Character gone today, then what tommorow? Randall Kadish April 4, 1998 Randall Kadish After so many Clinton scandals and Clinton "incorrect statements" a majority of Americans apparently still believe that character doesn't matter. I find this troubling. Here's why: The Left, argruing against the Character and Morality issues have, in the eyes of the Far Right, also argued that David Duke's character shouldn't matter either. Morality, as I see it, doesn't crumble selectively, but broadly--the way it did in Germany in the 1920's. Isn't that why so many Germans with Jewish friends came to the conclusion that, with the economy improving and with the hated Versailles Treaty nullified, Hitler's character didn't matter? Furthermore, in THE RISE AND FALL OF THE THRID REICH William Shirer continually asks what if a seemingly small event hadn't happened, like Hitler's grandfather changing his last name from Shicklgruber to collect an inheritance. Shirer answers that few would have voted for someone named Adolf Schiklgruber and that, therefore, the carnage of World War Two would never have happened. Much of history, we must conclude, is random. Then what is our and our children's best defense against the tyranny, upheaval and destructon that have plagued man from the beginning? Simple: character and morality, and men like Winston Churchill. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
