Also, since Michael, if indeed he is a U. of Chicago man, will, by your own assertions, have sufficient evidence to corroborate his accusations, and since, by your own account, he has accused you of making fun of women all the time, it seems to me that either: (a) you do, in fact, make fun of women all the time; (b) Michael is not a U. of Chicago man; (c) Michael is a U. of Chicago man, but acting in an manner that is uncharacteristic of one; (d) our knowledge about the U. of Chicago man, as you have expressed it, is faulty; or (e) you are simply wasting the Ligand thread's time, and your own considerable talent and abilities, with a lot of really dreary stuff (a dim possibility - added merely for completeness sake). I do not find any of these possibilities very attractive. Perhaps my reasoning is at fault. Hopefully, Ligand will indeed break out this week and we can all turn our attention to happier matters, like figuring out why the 1999 estimate should be .85/share instead of .84/share. Bernie, thanks for posting with OFF TOPIC. I wish more people on this thread (and others) would post in that manner where necessary. When you have several threads you are following jammed up with dozens of posts, the majority of which stray from the topic, it becomes time consuming. TIA to all.

OT: Bernie, I stand by my accusation that your posts are generally negative towards women. However, I'm also not going to get into a debate with you about this. It would be pointless since I doubt if you would recognize your negative tone towards women. Nevertheless, if you are truly interested in knowing the tone of your posts, as you claim, then I would ask you to do a poll of the women on this tread. A simple question would suffice [e.g. Do you consider my posts on this thread negative towards women?]. I will stand by the results if you will. If I am wrong, I will apologize to you.
